Journeying through Grief: A Sacred Circle of Support
Sundays, October 11, 18 & 25 at 9:00 a.m.
Classroom A in the Parish Hall
Whether you are mourning the death of a loved one, facing another significant loss, or carrying grief from years past, you are invited to join Journeying Through Grief. Together, through prayer, conversation, and Christian fellowship, we will create a compassionate space to share, listen, and find hope and healing in God’s presence. Come to one session or as many as you like!

Baptism Opportunities
Sundays, October 18 & November 1
We have two more opportunities for baptism in 2026: October 18th and November 1st (All Saints’ Day). We would love to baptize anyone not already baptized! At the Church of the Ascension we baptize babies, children, youth, and adults; if you'd like to explore baptism for your child or yourself, please contact Tina Clark at tina@ascensiondenver.org.
Remembering the Dead on All Saints' Day

On All Saints' Sunday, we recognize those saints who have died in the last year. If you want your loved ones' names read during the liturgy, send their first and last names to Emily at emily@ascensiondenver.org by Sunday, October 25th.
2027 Annual Giving Campaign is Live!
Last week, Church of the Ascension kicked off its 2027 annual giving campaign, "Rooted in Faith, Growing Together." You should have received a letter and pledge card in the mail from co-chairs Julia Brown and Kristin Ferguson explaining the opportunities and needs going into 2027. We invite you to consider making a pledge for 2027 by November 22nd, when we will come together for our In-Gathering Celebration and Brunch in the Parish Hall. We are grateful for a vibrant and generous community and thank you in advance for your engagement and support. Faith Formation Project
Read the Gospel of Mark with us this Fall!
We are committing to reading the four gospels and the Book of Acts as a parish over the next two years. Ways of engaging include listening to our podcast, coming to community dinners in October, or joining our Women's Bible Study.

Nursery

Children of all ages are ALWAYS welcome in worship at Ascension. Children older than 3 are welcome in the nursery by arrangement with Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Tina Clark, space allowing.

Godly Play for Preschool and Kindergarten will meet downstairs. Godly Play for 1st & 2nd Grade and for 3rd-5th Grades will meet upstairs. Youth Group for Middle School will meet upstairs and High School will meet in the Library/ Youth Room.

Preach and Teach Holy Eucharist and Healing

This unique midweek service combines adult formation and Holy Eucharist, offering an opportunity to explore Scripture and faith more deeply within the context of worship and conversation.
Parents' Morning at Ascension
Thursday, October 15, 8:30-10:30 am
Children ages 3 and under will enjoy friendship and age-appropriate Christian formation with our professional teaching staff while parents take a couple of hours to themselves for spiritual and personal renewal. Moms are warmly invited to join the Women's Bible Study from 9-10, and all parents are welcome for a time of reflection, prayer, or conversation - at the church or across the street at Novo. Women's Bible Study on the Gospel of Mark

Women of all ages are warmly invited to gather each Thursday morning in the Library/Youth Room for prayer, conversation, fellowship, and the study of Scripture as we journey together through the Gospels of Mark and Matthew this fall as part of our Faith Formation Project.
Young Adult Gathering

Dutch and Carey Leigh Crews are graciously hosting a time for the young adults to enjoy fellowship, snacks, and prayer. We welcome folks in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s! Lunch-Making for Neighbors Experiencing Homelessness

Help make lunches for the Women’s Homelessness Initiative, a ministry of Capitol Hill United Ministries. Ascension gathers one Sunday each month to prepare lunches for neighbors experiencing homelessness. Donations, which you can place in the bin at the back of the church, are also needed:

Central City Opera Presents: Earth to Kenzie
Sunday, October 18, 1pm
Experience the brand new 45-minute opera Earth to Kenzie at the beautiful historic Lincoln Hills, one hour west of Denver. When trouble at home forces her and her mom to move, imaginative fifth grader Kenzie must face her fears and discover that home is less about a place than about courage, friendship, and not having to face things alone. This show, co-produced with Opera Colorado, is a perfect first opera for young audiences or families. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.
