Praying with the community of Ascension

Prayer is an integral part of our life as Christians. Here at  Ascension, we have several opportunities to pray together.

  • Spoken and printed prayers every Sunday. Each Sunday, we pray aloud and in print for those who have requested our prayers. Please contact Parish Administrator Cathi Long.

  • Morning Prayer every Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. Since the 4th century, Christians have gathered to dedicate each new day to God in the service of Morning Prayer. Join us at 8 a.m. every Monday through Thursday on Zoom and at 8 a.m. every Friday in the Chapel and on Zoom.

  • Centering Prayer every Thursday at 8 a.m. Centering Prayer, a method of silent prayer rooted in scripture and Christian practice, is a wonderful way to start your day. Brief instruction is available. For more information, please contact Barb Watson.

  • Prayer Chain. The Prayer Chain is a group of parishioners who pray regularly for people or situations for whom or which prayer has been requested. Prayer requests are submitted by email and distributed confidentially by email to Prayer Chain participants. To submit a prayer request or to participate in the Prayer Chain, please contact Joan Casey.
