WEEKLY SERVICES AT ASCENSION

Worship is the heart of our church community with three regular services each week. Our service is centered in the weekly Old Testament, New Testament, and Gospel readings available in the Revised Common Lectionary followed by Holy Communion every Sunday. We offer special service schedules at holy days throughout the year including Holy Week and Christmas.

SUNDAY 8:00 a.m.

Rite II Holy Eucharist liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer, with sermon, time for quiet meditation, and music from the Hymnal.  Nursery care for children up to age 4 is offered at both the 8am and 10am service.  A coffee hour of refreshments and fellowship follows both the 8am and 10am services in the Parish Hall.

SUNDAY 10:00 a.m.

Rite II Holy Eucharist liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer, with sermon and choir. The 10:00 a.m. service, with a rich blend of traditional and contemporary music, uses numerous ministry teams such as youth acolytes, choir, prayer ministers, ushers, chalice ministers, greeters, and altar guild. During the service, Christian education (Sunday School) is offered to our children and pre-teens, and then they return to the service for the Eucharist. We also offer nursery care for children up to age four during both the 8am and 10am service, providing a safe, loving setting with age-appropriate materials. Coffee hour refreshments are provided in the parish hall following both the 8am and 10am services.

MORNING PRAYER

A daily service of Morning Prayer is offered every weekday at 8:00 a.m. in the main church sanctuary. This is a 20–25 minute spoken service of Scripture, canticles, and quiet prayer and meditation.  Morning Prayer is offered in the main sanctuary with entrance through the north doors at the corner of 6th Ave. and Gilpin St.
