"Could you not stay awake with me for one hour?" All Night Vigil in the Chapel
A prayer vigil will take place in the Chapel following the Maundy Thursday service until noon on Good Friday. The prayer vigil commemorates Jesus' time of prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane and his question to the sleeping disciples, "So, could you not stay awake with me one hour?" A sign up sheet for one-hour shifts is on the nametag table on the landing between the stairs leading up to the Church. A security guard will be on duty throughout the night.

Opportunities for children and youth. The more the merrier as we celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead. At the 10 a.m. service, we need banner bearers and acolytes to serve as crucifers, torch bearers, and a Gospel book bearer. Please contact Coordinator of Children's and Youth Ministries Sue Richardson, or leave a message in the Parish Office at 303-388-5978.
Flowers for the cross on Easter. Flowers, which symbolize resurrection, return to the Church on Easter Sunday. Adding live flowers to a barren cross symbolizes our rejoicing in the new life of resurrection. Join the celebration by bringing garden or store-bought flowers to decorate our new flowering cross. Children will put the flowers in the cross during their procession at the 10 a.m. service.
Easter Coffee Hour potluck. Bring something to share at Coffee Hour on Easter Sunday! We typically have lots of visitors on Easter. We should show them a good time so they will consider making Ascension their home. Store-bought or home made, we welcome all donations. AND we want to have leftovers for our Easter egg hunters to feast on when they return!
Easter Egg Hunt. Ascension's annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place on Easter Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in Little Cheesman Park (you'll have time for a Coffee Hour snack before coming up to the park).
Please leave donations of candy that will fit in eggs or pre-filled eggs in the Parish Office by Maundy Thursday, April 18.
If you can help hide eggs during the 10 a.m., shepherd children to the park, or supervise the start of the hunt, please contact Coordinator of Children's and Youth Ministries Sue Richardson, or leave a message in the Parish Office at 303-388-5978.
