Lenten Learning & Simple Suppers
Join us on Wednesdays, April 3 and 10 at 6 p.m. for a delicious soup and salad supper as we continue to explore the essentials of being Christian. Based on Rowan Williams's book Being Christian: Baptism, Bible, Eucharist, and Prayer, Rector Weezie Blanchard will lead the discussion for adults, and Coordinator of Children's Ministries Sue Richardson will lead children ages 4-12. Child care will be available in the Nursery.

Opportunities for children and youth.
During the next few weeks, we have several opportunities for children and youth serve at Ascension. Volunteering is a great way to fulfill a Lenten promise to do more for others and an opportunity to learn more about - and be more involved in - the worship that is at the heart of who we are.
April 7 is Family Worship Sunday. We need greeters, ushers, acolytes, readers, and oblation bearers.
April 14 is Palm Sunday. We need a crucifer and two acolytes to lead the procession with the bagpipe and drum corps as we parade around the neighborhood.
April 21 is Easter Sunday! Alleluia returns! The more the merrier as we celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead. At the 10 a.m. service, we need banner bearers, kite flyers, and bell ringers. We also need acolytes to serve as crucifers, torch bearers, and a Gospel book bearer.
