Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." - John 20:21
Pentecost is one of the most important holidays on the Church calendar. The day honors the coming of the Holy Spirit, the sending out of the Disciples into the world, and the birth of the Church. It is meant to be a festive and celebratory day that empowers us with that same Holy Spirit and that same shove to ministry and engagement with the world. So let us also join with the generations of people before us and with the thousands around the world who joyfully receive the very good news of the presence of the Spirit within us and around us. At the Church of the Ascension we can do that by wearing red to church as our own "tongues of fire", enjoying the participation of our children at the 10 O'clock service and by coming to the Make Ascension Bloom catered tea following that service. We look forward with joyful anticipation to your presence and participation.
