Dear Ascension Family,
On Saturday, April 10th, twelve of our Ascension teens received the sacrament of Confirmation at St. John's Cathedral in downtown Denver. The sacrament of Confirmation is a ceremony involving the laying on of hands by the bishop with special prayers for the gifts and blessings of the Holy Spirit. It is a public and personal affirmation of their faith, and was the result of many months of study, worship, fellowship, and service. For those from our parish family who could not attend, I wanted to share with you the beauty and joy of that morning. Below is the procession in to the cathedral of our Ascension Confirmands. Leading the way and carrying our parish banner is Tyler Ray, who worked with Laura Osborne, Sue Richardson, Daniel Romero, and myself over these months to prepare our teens for this day. Following in procession in order are; Lyndsey Benes, Hope Cherubini, Martha Baker, Grace Leonard, Maddie Darre, Lila Arnold, Lily Freeman, Avery Butler, Will Caulkins, Geroge Kandel, Harris Butler, and Charlie Wetzel. We continue to celebrate with, give thanks for and hold these newly confirmed Christians in our prayers.
This Easter season continues to be one of great joy with new baptism and births in our parish family. We will hear and see more about those next week. For now, please read on as there are some wonderful musical and worship offerings this weekend at the parish. I look forward to seeing you there.
Easter blessings, Easter joy!
