This weekend at Ascension we are embracing the joy and wonder of the new season of fall that is upon us! And we have some wonderful ways to enjoy fellowship, worship and service together. First, on Saturday morning, we have our final Parish Work Day of the year. Starting at 9am and lasting until Noon, we will tackle some outdoor chores, some indoor chores, and even put labels on the beer bottles that have been made ready for Oktoberfest. Come join the fun and fellowship of beautifying our common space and grounds at Ascension, and get a sneak preview of the new beer labels for Oktoberfest!
On Sunday we worship as usual at the 8am and 10am as we continue in our season of financial stewardship for the life of our parish. We will hear from Vestry members at each service as to why Ascension means so much and why it is worth supporting generously with our finances. And at the 10am we will celebrate with joy another baptism. Deacon Tim Dunbar is our preacher this Sunday at both services and you never want to miss that. After the 10am service at coffee hour, our annual Ministry Fair will take place. Come and see all that goes on in the life of our parish and consider signing up to be a part of a parish ministry.
Finally, on Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm, we celebrate our first Choral Evensong of the year. Dan Romero tells us more below. This holy and beautiful service of prayer, music, and readings is a perfect way to end your week, and prepare for the week to come. It's another great we
ekend at Ascension and I can't wait to see you there!
Yours faithfully in Christ,
Fr. Lucas Grubbs
