Mark, the son of Howard and the late Carol Hohlen, was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and raised on a small farm in the central part of that state. He attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He moved to Colorado in March of 2002 and has lived in Denver and Breckenridge where he met his wife to be, Deborah Vasquez. In the Fall of 2005 Mark and Debbie joined the Ascension family and on June 4, 2006 were married by Father James at the Church of the Ascension in Pueblo, Debbie’s home town. On October 15, 2007 Mark and Deb were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Julia Carol Hohlen. Mark and Deb live in the Hilltop area.

Currently self-employed, Mark has been involved in the construction industry since high school and has owned and operated his own companies in both Nebraska and Colorado specializing in interior finish carpentry and remodel/renovation projects.

Mark’s interests include an eclectic taste in music, cooking, reading, Nebraska Football, spending time with Deb and Julia and traveling when possible.
