The Adult Choir rehearses Thursday evenings starting at 7:00 PM in the Choir Room. It is not an auditioned ensemble and singers—and those who would like to develop their singing voices—are always welcome to join us in rehearsal. High school students in Grades 9-12 are also encouraged to join us. All materials are provided in a manageable binder that allows singers to lead worship with assurance. Ascension Choir prepares diverse repertoire including anthems in the Anglican tradition, a cappella motets, spirituals and contemporary anthems that serve to inspire Sunday worship and expand the musical horizons of volunteer singers. Rehearsals typically include prayer, physical, mental and vocal warm-ups, rehearsal of hymns, service music, and offertory anthems well in advance of their presentation. In addition, the Organist and Music Director is available for individual coaching on request. Post-rehearsal treats and choir parties are routinely provided for our singers.
